How to arrive in vehicle from the main directions

From the south (Madrid, centre):

Take the A6.
Take the AP6.
Continue along the AP51.
Take the A51.
Continue along the A50.
Follow the N501.
At Santa Marta de Tormes, go straight on.
At the roundabout, take exit 3 and continue on the N501
Enter Salamanca.
Go to the centre of Salamanca.

From the north (Valladolid):

Take the N601.
At the roundabout take exit 4.
Continue along the E80/ A62.
Join the N620.
Then the N620A.
Enter Salamanca.
Go to Calle del Concejo, 4.

From the airport (37893, Machacón):

Go towards the north east.
Turn left onto the N501/ Carretera de Salamanca- Ávila.
Join the A50.
Continue along the N501 and at the first roundabout take the first exit in the direction of Puente del Príncipe de Asturias.
At the Ciudad de Brujas roundabout, take the second exit towards the Paseo del Rector Esprabé.
At the roundabout, take the fourth exit in the direction of the Calle de la Gran Vía and go towards the Plaza Mayor.
Turn right into Calle Concejo.

How to arrive in public transport from the airport

The easiest way to get to Salamanca is to fly to Madrid (Barajas Airport), and then take the bus (Avanza Bus) or the train (RENFE), both of which leave frequently. The journey from Madrid to Salamanca takes approximately two hours. If you are coming from Portugal or France you can come by bus or train. If you are coming from Madrid by car, use the A-50 motorway.

Bus: If you prefer the bus, there are scheduled services that, with their corresponding connections, enable you to get to Salamanca from any Spanish or European city. From Madrid-Barajas airport to get to the South Bus Station in Madrid (Compañía Auto-Res, C/ Méndez Álvaro) the best option is to take line 8 (pink) of the metro until Nuevos Ministerios and change to line 6 (grey) until Méndez Álvaro. Currently, there is a bus service that runs between Madrid-Barajas and Salamanca.

Taxi: Easily taken at the airport.

Tren: If you prefer the train, RENFE runs a daily service to Madrid, Lisbon, Porto, Paris and all connecting stations. To get to Chamartín train station from Madrid-Barajas airport take line 8 (pink) of the metro until Nuevos Ministerios, and then change to line 10 (dark blue) which will take you to Chamartín.
